The Monogram Murders - Sophie Hannah

I am on a roll with reading up murder mysteries... A very dear colleague gifted The Monogram Murders by Sophie Hannah to me and I am grateful to her for this. Every book tells us a story and I seem to have a story as well behind getting books😄 The Monogram Murders, series of Hercule Poirot books, which has characters created by Agatha Christie.  Starting with my view of the book, it is very well written and plotted. The minute details uncovered by the protagonist held my attention throughout which made me wonder who the murderer would be. The clues, characters, places reminded me of Sherlock Holmes but the uniqueness was maintained till the end I better not mention more of it to keep your curiosity lighted up. Do read the synopsis below to have an early glance. QUOTES: -"It is the job of art to replace unhappy true stories with happier inventions" Synopsis Hercule Poirot's quiet supper in a London coffee house is interrupted when a young woman confides to him that she i...

Roses are Red - James Patterson

A new murder mystery to be solved...… I happen to got this book through a friend who knows I like reading. Though I got the book long ago, I finally read it and it was worth it!! 😀 Roses are Red is the sixth novel in the series. I was not aware until I had started reading it and became a fan. Alex Cross detective series has 25 books. The continuation of Roses are Red is followed by Violets are Blue which is ironic. Moving on to the view about the book, which is shortly mentioned above the story is attention grabbing with a series of bank robberies which includes murders. Thriller as it gets and unfolds, the story makes one want to turn the page and be curious. It gives a lesson to care for your loved ones and be as close as you can to them. Maintain a work life balance to make up time for other important things in life. The story is not only thriller but emotional as well, which gave details of the previous series and ongoing stories. Roses are Red caught my attention immediately...

Murder at the Vicarage - Agatha Christie

Hope you are doing well  Today my blog is about a mystery novel, The Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie . I am a fan of reading mystery novels, which is my favorite genre. Talking about this one, a murder mystery, it kept me hooked to the story and made me wonder every now and then about who the murderer might be?  A good read to begin with. The quotes that we liked can be seen in the below images along with the synopsis of the novel.   Synopsis : When a despised magistrate is found shot to death in the library of the local vicarage, his wife and her lover, a portrait painter living on the church grounds, both confess to the crime. Miss Marple's keen powers of observation clear both of them of the crime, but other suspects abound. Do read and let us know your thoughts To receive updates on new blogs  Click Here

Anxious People - Fredrik Backman

In our first blog we shall take you through our journey of the novel Anxious People by Fredrik Backman A story about a journey or incident which changed and affected some lives. There were moments of laughing, sadness, happiness, shocked; in short it was a wholesome experience which left a smile on the face throughout and towards the end. The first thought that came to mind after reading the book was how is it so soft and funny at the same time. Mostly to keep a theme funny and light, jokes are made at the dispense of other characters. But here the mood was always kept light hearted without ever offending anybody.  We know describing a story soft doesn't say much about it but that's the first word that popped up into the mind. The way the characters are portrayed by the author and the way they stand up for each other pleases our kind side The story very subtly explains that nobody is perfect and mistakes and decisions are part of being human  Below are some of our favorite quo...
